This FAQ does not purport and should not be considered to be a guide to or explanation for all relevant issues or considerations in connection with the eIPO Services. You should therefore seek prior independent advice on legal, tax and other issues in connection with the use of the eIPO Services and also refer to the Conditions and Notices for further information.

1)What is CGS MY's eIPO?
 

This is an Internet shares/ETBS application service provided by CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.) to allow you to subscribe for the Initial Public Offerings ("IPO"). Subject to the terms and conditions of the eIPO Services ("Conditions") on the eIPO website ("Website"), you can register to use the eIPO Services and make payment of application money for IPO applications over the internet. This is an alternative way of submitting the application for IPOs in addition to the normal paper-based prospectus and application forms, which are also printable from the Website and available from CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.)

2)Who is eligible to use CGS MY eIPO service?
 

 

  • Malaysian resident and citizen above the age of 18
  • You must be an CGS iTrade registered member (this is an online trading service provided by CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.)) holding a CDS account registered in your name (nominees accounts are not allowed) opened with CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.) Corporations or partnerships are not eligible to use the eIPO Services.
  • You must have an existing account with Malayan Banking Berhad which registered user under www.maybank2u.com.my & CIMB Bank Berhad which registered user under www.cimbclicks.com.my
  • Please refer to Condition 4 of the Conditions for further eligibility requirements.

 

3)What are the procedures to apply IPO shares/ETBS online?
 

The steps, as set out in the eIPO Services Walkthrough include:
 

  • Select the desired IPO to view the IPO's summary
  • Read the respective prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack and accept the Conditions as well as the Notices to subscribe online
  • Log-in as CGS iTrade registered member (key in user ID and password)
  • Fill in the eIPO application form, instruct payment by selecting the authorised financial institution and key in your Trading PIN before submitting your application online
  • CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.), or a party on its behalf, will issue a confirmation of receipt of the submitted eIPO application
  • You may check the status of the eIPO application from the website after the closing date of the respective IPO

 

4)What are the risks associated with online IPO application?
 

Potential risks of online transactions include interruption, transmission blackout, delayed transmission due to data congestion in the internet traffic and incorrect data transmission due to the public nature of the internet.

5)Is this service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?
 

Yes, it is. You can submit your online application for the desired IPO once the prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack is issued until the closing date and time as indicated in the respective prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack or such other time as the issuer of the IPO, the Offeror (where relevant) and the Managing Underwriter/Underwriter/Lead Manager(s) (where relevant), may in their absolute discretion mutually decide.

6)Can I amend or cancel my application once submitted?
 

No, you cannot amend or cancel the eIPO application once you have submitted it. However, withdrawal is permitted following the issuance of a supplementary prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack. Please refer to FAQ No. 13.

7)By when should I send in my eIPO application?
 

You are advised to send in the eIPO application at least half an hour before the closing time on the closing date as stated in the respective prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack. This is to avoid unnecessary online transactions delay due to interruption, transmission blackout, delayed transmission due to data congestion in the internet traffic and incorrect data transmission due to the public nature of the internet.

8)What is the cost of using CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.'s (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.) eIPO Services?
 

This service is another value-added service provided to all CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.) clients at a processing fee of RM2.00 per application.

9)Will I get a confirmation once I submit my online application?
 

Yes, CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.), or a party on its behalf, will issue you a confirmation of receipt of your submitted application. You may print a hardcopy of the confirmation for your record.

10)How do I know whether my application is successful or not?
 

You can check by viewing the eIPO "Application Status" page.

11)If my application is partially successful, how will I receive the refund for the unsubscribed portion?
 

CGS International Securities Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn. Bhd.) will arrange for a refund of your application money by crediting the relevant sum into the account with the authorised financial institution through which the application money was previously debited in accordance with Condition 11 of the Conditions.

12)Who determines my allocation?
 

The issuer of the IPO will determine the allocation of shares/ETBS between applicants as per the basis described in the respective prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack or offer document. Should an offer be over-subscribed, your application may be scaled back to less than the number of shares/ETBS you have applied for, or you may not be successful in your application.

13)What happens when a supplementary prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack is issued?
 

In the event a supplementary prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack is issued, you are entitled to revise your application once, within a certain timeframe as specified in the supplementary prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack. Should there be a supplementary prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack issued, a notice/advertisement will be published in a widely circulated Bahasa Malaysia and English newspaper. In addition, a written notice together with the supplementary prospectus/information memorandum/knowledge pack will be sent to each applicant.

14)How do I pay for my eIPO application?
 

Payment can be made online via Maybank2u or CIMB Clicks on the eIPO application page.

15)When will I get my refund if my application is unsuccessful?
 

Please refer to Condition 11 of the Conditions.
